Preparing For Your Brazilian Wax
If you've never visited your esthetician for a brazilian wax you may not know what to expect. There are various pre-emptive steps to ensure you have a great experience.
Don't Shave
Your pubic hair should be 1/4" long when you arrive for your brazilian waxing appointment. This is very important to ensure the esthetician's wax can grip the hairs properly.
Bring A Cleansing Wipe
Many estheticians will provide a pH balanced cleansing wipe, but not all. Be prepared and bring one to use prior to your appointment.
Exfoliate 2-3 Times Per Week Prior
To remove dead skin cells and prepare the hair to be removed it is recommended to exfoliate 2-3 times per week. This weakens the hairs connection, and allows wax to pull the hair out in a much smoother fashion, leading to less irritation. It's recommended to use a non-comedogenic exfoliating bikini scrub for ingrown hairs and razor burn.

During Your Brazilian Wax
If you've never visited your esthetician for a brazilian wax you may not know what to expect.
Get Prepared & Undress
Your esthetician will have you get undressed and sit on the waxing table. You will be generally bare during the process, so prepare for this.
Stay Calm & Breath
Although a wax may nerve racking it can make a big difference practicing breathing exercises. Keep your breaths consistent and breath in and out when a strip is being pulled. This will help you relax and lower the pain.
Wax Strips
Depending on your waxing professional you may use hot wax, soft wax, strip wax or even sugar paste. Whatever option you or your esthetician chooses prepare for the slight pain as each strip is being pulled off.
Enjoy Your Esthetician
Esthetician's are often some of the nicest people to chat with. Spend the time getting to know your esthetician, so you can look forward to your next appointment.

Esthetician Skincare After Your Brazilian Wax
If you've never visited your esthetician for a brazilian wax you may not know what to expect.
Hydrate With Soothing Oils
Immediately after you should be applied soothing oil and/or an ingrown hair oil by Bushbalm. These are naturally derived and help soothe the irritation you may be feeling.
Intense Calming With A Vajacial Mask
Your esthetician may use a hydrogel vajacial mask to provide intense hydration. It typically takes 10 minutes to cool your bikini area after a wax. If you experience redness you can expect this mask to soften the redness almost immediately.

Home Care After A Brazilian
To get the best experience you'll want to take your skincare home with you from the waxing salon.
Ingrown Hair Oils
On the market you can find ingrown hair oils that are typically made from tea tree, grapeseed, and jojoba oil. Nude Oil is the most well known product for at-home care after a brazilian wax.
Hydrogel Vajacial Masks
Formulated with hydrogel these products are known for their intense hydration. To get the best results you'll want to use these masks in-between your waxing appointments 2 to 3 times.
Exfoliating Ingrown Hair Scrubs
Formulated with gentle ingredients, like sugar and natural oils an ingrown hair scrub will help exfoliate dead skin cells and hydrate your bikini line.
